Mark David Rieb

Mark David Rieb, MD, NMD passed away in October 2020 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Aurora, Colorado on April 4, 1954, to Fredrick and Maetta Rieb, who preceded him in death.

Growing up, Mark lived in various locations across the western U.S., as his father was in the Air Force. He spent most of his years, however, in Albuquerque where he completed medical school at the University of New Mexico. He then lived in both California and Guam, serving as a Navy physician, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander. 

Mark was a family physician for 40 years in both Minnesota and New Mexico, with specializations in obstetrics, acupuncture, and naturopathic medicine. He was beloved by his many patients and kept his licensure active after retirement, volunteering with the NM Medical Reserve Corps. 
An avid bicyclist, tie collector, and wine enthusiast, Mark also enjoyed camping, Renaissance Festivals, genealogy, playing many instruments, and listening to Broadway, jazz and classical music. He raised his daughters in Minnesota and took great pleasure in visiting them and his grandchildren there. 

Mark is survived by his daughters Kaitlyn Shead and Megan Rieb, his son-in-law Lamichael Shead, and his three grandchildren LaRyssa, Carter, and Cameron Shead, who will miss him dearly. Mark is also survived by his siblings Mary K., Terri, Declan and his wife Elizabeth, along with nieces and nephews. 

A family ceremony will take place on October 29, 2020 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, where he will be interred. The family prefers donations in memory of Mark Rieb be made payable to The American Legion. To leave your condolences, please visit www.danielsfuneral.com.
