Marlene Ellis

December 21, 1932 — March 14, 2011

Marlene Ham Ellis was born on December 21, 1932 in Atoka County, Oklahoma to Bruner and Estelle Ham. Marlene passed away quietly with her family in attendance at San Juan Regional Medical Center on March 14, 2011. Marlene was a resident of Farmington for over 50 years. She loved her family, her store, and San Juan County. Marlene is survived by her husband of 32 years, Ira Ellis, of the family home. A brother, C.W. Ham, of Palestine, Texas, a sister, Betty Barritt, of Childress, Texas; three daughters, Marjorie Stearns Brown of Apache Junction, AZ, Marion Stearns Evans of Montrose, CO, and Janet Stearns Tibbits of Topeka, Indiana; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Marlene never met a stranger. She always loved a good story. She always had a few of her own as well as the latest joke. She will be greatly missed by her family and the scores of people who were lucky enough to cross her path. She was a phenomenal woman.
