Marlin Janzen

Marlin Janzen, born April 8, 1929, in Little River, Kansas, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was 95 years old.


Marlin graduated from Sedgwick High School in 1947 and proudly served his country as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In 1953, he married Dorothy Snell in Phoenix, Oregon, and together they shared a remarkable 71 years of marriage.


Marlin worked for AT&T for 31 years, dedicating himself to his career with steadfast commitment. Outside of work, he found joy in his hobby of building and collecting model trains. A man of faith, Marlin was a devoted member of Hoffmantown Church.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Janzen and Alva Steinberg; his brother Wayne Janzen; and his sister Pauline Miller. Marlin is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy Janzen of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his brother Glenn Janzen of Newton, Kansas; his daughter Janet Pomey of Gilbert, Arizona; and his cherished grandchildren Brett Pomey and Kelsey Pomey.


Marlin’s life was marked by dedication to family, service to his country, and a passion for the simple joys that brought him happiness. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
