Martha Lucille Spears

Spears, Martha Lucille loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother of Magdalena, NM went to see her father in Heaven on March 8, 2012. Martha was born in Truth or Consequences, NM on April 28, 1943, to Stanley and Ann (Curtis) Young. She married Richard Spears on August 11, 1962. They moved to Bosque, NM in 1972 and she committed her time to raising her three kids. She later became an EMT and worked many volunteer hours in Bosque, NM. Martha enjoyed her family and spent much of her time devoted to their endeavors. She had a wonderful sense of humor and had no problem making others laugh. She touched the lives of all who knew her. Martha was an avid yard enthusiast. She loved all birds, especially hummingbirds, having one of the largest populations eating out of her feeders every summer. Her hobbies included fishing, camping, family vacations and Easter celebrations. She is survived by her son: Clay Spears and his wife, Chari; her loving daughters, Jana Harding and her husband, Cecil and Leslie Clark and her husband, Clay; her sister, Judith Tanner; brothers, Jim Greg and his wife, Laurie; Fred Greg and his wife, Helen; her grandchildren: Mysti, McKensi, Melanie, Micah, Kara McCorkell and husband, Jyp, Tyler Chavez and fiance, Kayla Baca, Brett Clark, Kassandra Gabaldon, Cecil B. Harding and wife, Andrea, and Richard Harding and girlfriend, Shaylyn McCan; great grandchildren: Kindell Kelly, Wyatt Kelly, Jada McCorkell, Sylus McCorkell and Mark Gabaldon. Her loving animals, Sterling and Blue miss you dearly. Services were held on Saturday, March 11, 2010 at 3:00 pm at the Presbyterian Community Church in Magdalena with Rev. Jeff Finch officiating. Pallbearers were: Tyler Chavez, Richard Harding, Brandon Harding, Brett Clark, Kindell Kelly and Wyatt Kelly. Honorary Pallbearers were: Justin Spears, Mark Gabaldon, Sylus McCorkell and Clint Benjamin. Go in peace mother, we love you and we'll think of you every day of our lives!
