Martha M. White

Age 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Silver Wings Assisted Living Home where she was very well taken care in preparation for her journey home. 

During her time in Albuquerque, her ancestral home, she was very active with the VFW, American Legion Post 401, volunteered many hours at the Veterans Hospital serving coffee and assisting anyone that needed help and helped with many fund raisers for the Veterans and their families through the above organizations.  She also helped with the homeless of our community and made sure children had warm clothes and gifts during the Christmas Season.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Howard, aka Whitey.  She’s survived by one brother Manuel J. Caire of Brea, California and many nieces and nephews both here in Albuquerque, Payson, Arizona and Oceanside, California. Also, many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews both here in Albuquerque, California and Colorado.  Also, many cousins on both the Caire and Candelaria side of the family.  So many wonderful friends and neighbors that had been there for Martha and well as her family.

There will be a private burial in Santa Fe at the National Cemetery where she will be interned with her husband at a later date and also a Memorial Service that will be hosted by the VFW and American Legion Post 401.

At this time, the family would like to give their heartfelt thanks for all the visits, prayers, cards, phone calls and support given to Martha and the family during these last seven months.  A special thank you to the staff of caregivers at Silver Wings Assisted Living Home for making not only Martha comfortable but all her friends and family.

Any donations should be made in her name and sent to organizations that support our veterans, and military men and women.
