Martin Gonzales, Jr, age 85, a resident of Corrales since 1974, passed away at his home on May 30, 2017 while surrounded by his loving family. Martin was born May 23, 1932 in Tucumcari, NM to Martin, Sr. and Gregorita (Valverde) Gonzales.  Martin retired from the Albuquerque Fire Department and then worked at Sandia National Laboratory until his retirement. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Ramona; his children; Rosalie Gutierrez and husband Larry, Sr., Martin Gonzales III and wife Debbie Martinez, and Richard Gonzales.  He is also survived by six grandchildren; Gwen Haworth, Larry Gutierrez, Jr., James-Michael David Gonzales, Stephen J. Gonzales, Sarah Gonzales, and Martin Gonzales, IV; two great grandchildren, Brian James Haworth and Oliver Chaidez, two brothers; Alfonso and Leo Gonzales and a sister; Maria Clemente. Martin was preceded in death by a son, James David Gonzales. A Rosary will be recited 6 pm, Thursday, June 1, 2017 at San Ysidro Catholic Church in Corrales, NM. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10 am Friday, June 2, 2017 at the San Ysidro Parish in Corrales.  Interment will follow at the San Ysidro Cemetery, also in Corrales.
