Martin A. "Jimmy" Martinez passed away on December 29, 2008 in Gallup, New Mexico. He was 78. He was born on November 30, 1930 in Gibson, New Mexico to Guadalupe Martinez and Susana Torres Martinez. He served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired after 37 years of service from the City of Gallup. But will best be remembered as a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Mary Lou Martinez of the family home in Gallup. His sons; James Martinez of AZ., Christopher Martinez and his wife Antonette of Gallup, Michael Martinez and his wife Rachel of Gallup, Martin Martinez of Gallup, Adopted son Luis Vega also of Gallup. His daughters; Debbie Torrez and her husband John Jr. of Gallup, Barbara Frazier and her husband Mike of Albuquerque, Martina Granados and her husband Luis of Gallup, Vivian Rorher and her husband Brice of Grants, and Andrea Martinez of Gallup. His sister; Anna Romero and one nephew; Joe Martinez both of CA. along with 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Chewy Martinez. Pallbearers include; John Torrez Jr., Christopher Martinez, Michael Martinez, Martin Martinez, Cory Romero, and Luis Vega. Honorary Pallbearers include; Angel Martinez, Marc Martinez, Luis Granados Jr., Joseph Martinez, Joe Martinez, Mike Frazier, David Garcia, Luis Granados Sr. and Brice Rohrer. Life but a stopping place, A pause in what's to be, A resting place along the road, To sweet eternity. We all have different paths along the way, We all were meant to learn some things, But never meant to stay�?�?� Our destination is a place, Far greater than we know.
