Mary Jukich Bentz

BENTZ - Mary Jukich Bentz, 86, passed away on November 09, 2009 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mary Bentz was born March 5, 1923 in Calumet Minnesota to Father Stefan Jukich and Mother Mara Ljeskovac. Mary attended Greenway High School and Itasca Junior College in Northern Minnesota where she met her husband Fred Bentz. Mary finished her Bachelors degree in Dietetics at the University of Minnesota and had a life long career as a registered dietician. Mary and Fred were married November 10th, 1951 in Grand Rapids Minnesota, and moved to Albuquerque New Mexico where Mary worked for the Veterans Administration hospital, Presbyterian hospital, and numerous nursing centers. After retirement, Mary traveled the world with Fred. Fred and Mary were active members of the Slavic Club in Albuquerque. Mary liked making (and shopping for) jewelry. Mary enjoyed caring for her pet turtles. Mary was preceded in death by husband Fred Bentz. Mary is survived by her brother Mike Jukich of Keewatin Minnesota, two sons, Karl (Felicia) Bentz and Mark (Karen) Bentz, Grandchildren Matthew and Ryan Bentz (Karl), their mother Alma Bentz, Brian and Meghan Bentz (Mark), and a large extended family.
