Mary Ellen Chavez

Mary Ellen Chavez, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014, surrounded by her loved ones including - her devoted husband of 58 years, Eddie P. Chavez and her two daughters - Linda L. Rambes and Yvonne J. Craig. She is at peace now and we will miss her dearly. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her son, Edward C. Chavez and her daughter, Geraldine A. Hoffland. She was a life-long resident of Albuquerque and came from a large, faithful New Mexican family. Mary Ellen had 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was a woman of strong faith and loved God and the Catholic Church. Mary Ellen and Eddie enjoyed music and dancing - mostly at senior centers around Albuquerque. They traveled to Las Vegas many times throughout their life together to attend dances and concerts. A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Inurnment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
