Mary Evelyn Campbell, Horn, Courtin, was a resident of Albuquerque for over 55 years. Born on January 29, 1920 in Pittsburgh, PA to Bertha Vanselow and Chester Herron, was called to Heaven on March 20, 2016. She was the fourth of eight children

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands John W. Campbell Sr., Stan Horn, and Jack W. Courtin.

Evelyn has two children JoAnn Gunter of Florida and John W. Campbell Jr of Albuquerque. Evelyn worked at S.N.L, formerly Sandia Corp, and retired after 18 years.

She enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adeline's chorus, music, country western dancing and loved to read.

Evelyn has three grandchildren Robert McGraw, Patricia Schulte, Randy McGraw and wife Natalie, great-grandchildren Amanda, Lisa, Dustin and Trish. She has five step-sons, Randy Horn, and Richard Horn and wife Helen, Craig Courtin and wife Jeanette, Scott Courtin and Geoff Courtin.

Step-grandchildren Hillary and husband Paul, Whitney and husband Steven, Lyndsey, Heather and husband Jake, Tanya and several great-great grandchildren.


Evelyn came from a poor family, but always seemed to be ahead of her time, always positive and liked to be up with current events. She was always family oriented and love to host family gatherings and special occasions.

A private cremation has taken place.
