Mary E. Kozimor
Mary Evelyn “Shorty” Kozimor, 89, of Farmington passed away Thursday, December 22, 2010. She was born in Redoak, Texas on September 24, 1921 to Emory Rains and Elizabeth Gunter Rains. Mary Evelyn “Shorty” Kozimor grew up in West Texas with her mother and four sisters. She graduated high school in McCamey, Texas and went on to graduate from beautician’s school in San Angelo, Texas. She then owned and operated The Rankin Beauty Shop until moving to Farmington, NM in 1957 with her husband, Stanley and two sons, Joe and Stan. She was an officer and member of the Board of Directors of Consolidated Constructors, Inc. until her retirement. She was always an active and dedicated member of her church family at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Performing duties involving everything from teaching Sunday school and visitation to participating on the committees to select the pastors of her church. In addition, she was an artist and enjoyed painting when she had the time, working mostly in oils. Her joys were her 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She touched many lives and will never be forgotten. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Kozimor; parents, Emory and Elizabeth Rains; sisters, Ned Word, Clois Hamilton, and Louise Gibson. Mrs. Kozimor is survived by Joe Rains Kozimor and Stanley Jack Kozimor as well as her sister Reba Bond and 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Evelyn will be Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 10:30 am at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Reverend John Preston officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Greenlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Stosh Kozimor, Zachary Kozimor (Jason Woods), Larry Word, Matt Perini, David Azam and Abe Barela. Arrangements are pending with Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W.
