Mary Kathryn Hanson

Mary Kathryn Hanson our beloved mother and wife of Roy A. Hanson departed this earth with peace in her heart surrounded by loving family members on August 19th, 2019.  

Mary, born to Helen and David Oaks of Chicago, IL Feb. 15th 1933, growing up with her brother David.  She spent her childhood, teenage and early adult years in Chicago where she met her best friend and love of her life Roy.  Once graduating from college with her teaching degree and marrying the love of her life, she and Roy moved to Albuquerque, NM where they would spend their next 64 years together. Mary retired after 32 years from Albuquerque Public Schools as an early education teacher where she touched hundreds of children’s lives.  

She was a kind, spirited, spiritual, loving, and devoted wife and mother.  She lived life to its fullest every day.  

Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband Roy 5 short months ago.  Mary the mother and wife, leaves behind three children, William and wife Donna, Nancy and husband Michael, Robert and wife Kimberlee, four grandchildren, John, Taryn and wife Lindsey, Adrian and wife Amanda, Kylie and one great grandchild Brooklyn.

Mary has departed this precious earth to join the love of her life Roy, where their hearts are now mended.  They are dancing with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and looking down on all of their children and grandkids.  She will be dearly missed by her family and all her friends.  Rest in peace Mary the mother and wife….
