Mary Beatrice Lopez, known as Bea, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2020 at the age of 85 years old. Bea was born on October 12, 1934 in Des Moines, New Mexico. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Bea was strong-willed and kind hearted. She was loved dearly by many and will be remembered for her tenacity, incredible charm and grace.

Bea loved to talk to people and share stories. She possessed the skill of delegation. She had a love for butterflies and sweets. Bea also loved to crochet, go to water aerobics, watch true crime TV, play games on her computer, have breakfast with friends at McDonalds and was strong in her faith. However, her most cherished moments were when she was able to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very proud of her family and always made sure to tell anyone who would listen all of their amazing accomplishments. She had a very special relationship with each of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her sister Virgina and her nieces and nephews.

Bea lived a full life. Growing up she was an incredible beauty and she knew it. She raised seven children on her own by working multiple jobs at a time. She was very proud of her time working as a Medical Records Administrator for the University Heights Osteopathic Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Bea married the love of her life, Raymond Lopez in 1991 and together they shared 19 years of marriage.

Bea’s immense love for people and her ability to make anyone she talked to feel special were two of the most wonderful gifts she bestowed on this earth. Her family will miss her big heart, stunning smile, phone calls on birthdays, her Easter ham, and holding her beautiful hands.

Bea is survived by her brother Gilbert Martinez, sisters Virginia Novallo and Rita and (Richard) Mares; her children Kathy and (Don) Allenbaugh, Beverly and (Vernon) George, Cindy and (Lou) Garcia, Bunny Martinez, Mark and (Marci) Martinez, and step-daughter Linda Lopez; her grandchildren Samantha and (Robert) Romero, Sabrina and (Adrian) Sandoval, Jason Garcia and (Fernando), Sara and (Isaac) C’de Baca, Angela and (Rikki) Salazar Salmeron, Francisco and (Vanessa) Garcia, Jessica and (Michael) Salazar Sedillo, Marisa and (Tony) Roddy, Joseph Prestwich and (Shantell), Lila Martinez, Cole Martinez, Ciera and (Josh) Lujan, Toby Fuentes, and Sydney Medina; and her great-grandchildren Andrew, Lauryn, Ty, Memphis, Alexis, Nathan, Savanna, Adriana, Monika, Reina, Antonio, Francisco Jr., Audivana, Isabel, Lucas, Logan, Hunter, Haylie and Ryker; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Tobias and Mary Martinez, soulmate and husband, Raymond Lopez, sons Roger Martinez and Martin Martinez, grandson Mark Martinez,Jr., brother Fidel Martinez and sister Rita Martinez.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Carlisle Chapel, 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. A private family interment will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Casa Subina Assisted Living Facility for taking such great care of our special lady.

We loved and adored our Mother and Grammie and will miss her immensely.
