Mary Helen Lopez

Mary Helen Lopez, age 73, beloved and devoted mother and grandmother, loving sister passed away peacefully,Saturday, October 12, 2019, while surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born on January 10,  1946 to the late Andres and Josefita Lopez.  She lived the majority of her life in Socorro, NM taking care of her family, working and volunteering her time to take care of the elderly. She was fondly known to those who loved her as Helen Lopez.  Helen enjoyed crocheting, painting, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.  She always had a strong faith  and belief in God. She was kind and generous to everyone in need, including animals and wayward souls.  If anyone who knew her, she was convicted, very passionate, and strong in her beliefs.  If she felt strongly about something you could not change her mind.  Helen will be deeply missed by her loving family, friends, loved ones and anyone in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her youngest son, Matthew Thomas. Helen is survived by her sons, Charles Thomas and Shane Thomas; grandsons, Shane Jeremy, Eric, Skyler and Nathaniel.  Also surviving are her sisters, Josie Cole and Gloria Ortega.

A Rosary will be recited at 8:30 AM, Tuesday, October 29, 2019 with a Mass to follow at 9:00 AM at San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro, New Mexico. An Interment is to follow at San Miguel Catholic Cemetery in Socorro, New Mexico.
