Bloom, Mary Lou December 31, 1935 On November 30, 2011, surrounded by the love of her family, Mary Lou Bloom gained her heavenly reward after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at her home in Albuquerque, NM. She was raised in Albuquerque and was a graduate of Albuquerque High School. Alamogordo had been her home for the past 54 years. She worked for the Federal Government as a civil service employee at Holloman Air Force Base until her retirement in 1999. Mary Lou enjoyed participating in various civic activities throughout her life in Alamogordo. She served as a board member of Otero Federal Credit Union for twenty years. She was one of two children born to the late Leonard and Josephine Schofield and was the beloved wife of Kenneth Bloom for 56 years. Mary Lou will be forever remembered by her family. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, her brother Harry Schofield (Carol), her six loving children Leonard Bloom (Frances), Judette Armstrong (Ralph), Sandra Wynn (Mike), Donna Ahlers (Herman), Harry Bloom (Martha), and Jackie Bloom. She had twelve beloved grandchildren Michelle Bloom, Caley Morales (Louie), Sonny Knight, David Knight (Jennifer), Terry Redmon (Sally), Melissa Redmon, Michael Redmon, Lauren Redmon, Joshua Bloom, Casey Cecava (Ben), Andrea Pierce (Matt), Bobby Gaffney. She also had twelve treasured great-grand children, and a large extended family and friends whom were blessed to know her. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and traveling. Mary Lou was a devout Catholic and gave willingly and graciously to those in need. A rosary will be recited at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel on December 2, 2011. A funeral service will take place on December 3, 2011 at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming NE, Albuquerque, NM. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank everyone for their countless prayers and well wishes during her illness. They would also like to extend their gratitude to those who had provided loving care to her.
