Mary Elizabeth Mead
April 18, 1939 — December 15, 2015
Mary Elizabeth Mead went home to the Lord on December 15, 2015. She was born in Pratt, Kansas on April 18, 1939 to Nira and Dr. Lee Hamilton.
Her husband of 51 years, Dr. Richard W. Mead survives her. They had two sons; Robert and wife Liese of Rio Rancho, NM, and Michael and wife Donicia of Farmington, NM. There are seven surviving grandchildren; Nick, Zach, Les, Jayden, and Bailey of Rio Rancho and Lily and Elena of Farmington. Mary has one surviving sister, Barbara Syrios and husband, Bill of Wichita, Kansas.
Mary spent many years teaching in a variety of settings in Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. She ended her career teaching Special Education in Albuquerque. She retired in 2000.
She was a devoted Christian and a prayer warrior. She participated is Bible Study Fellowship for many years and in the work of several churches.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Mary's honor to Joy Junction, Inc. www.joyjunction.org .
