Mary Agnes Miller, age 91, a resident of Albuquerque, N.M., left this world to be with our Lord, on Saturday, July 13, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Miller, son Terry Miller and survived by her children Jacquie (Doug), Patti(Jesse) Kati (Gene), Barbara (Wade) and Sean (Emily). She is also survived by her Sisters Donna Lucas of Waukesha Wisconsin, Judy(Jim) Lang and Vivian(Jr) Cremer of Dubuque, Iowa, Eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her Siblings (deceased) were Robert and Jimmy Koppes of Dubuque Iowa. Mary was the eldest child born to Mary Lucille and Clement Koppes of Dubuque Iowa.
Mary was born in Cascade Iowa on January 1, 1928, she was the eldest of seven children. The independent girl of 24, left Dubuque for Albuquerque, N.M. where she met her future husband Jack Howard Miller a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. They married 3 months later and so began a life of service to country and family. The couple moved multiple times with increasing numbers of children along the way. From New Mexico, to Massachusetts to Virginia where Jack worked at the Pentagon, to Madrid, Spain where they lived four years and their last child was born. Mary and Jack settled and raised their family in Albuquerque, N.M.
Mary was an active member at Queen of Heaven church acting as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteering her time for the church wherever she could. Mary also worked at Queen of Heaven school as the school secretary for over 20 years. Everywhere Mary went , she would meet a child or teacher she knew, who would tell her how she had helped them in some way and each one thanked her. Mary was a member of Catholic Daughters of Albuquerque. She was awarded the prestigious St. Francis of Assisi award, for being a vital part of life and service to the church, love for the lord and enriching the Catholic faith. It was presented to her by Archbishop Michael Sheehan.
Faith and Family were everything to Mary and that is her legacy. Her level of support, kindness, and humility was boundless to family and everyone she met.
Mary will be laid to rest beside her husband Jack, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all her friends and relatives, and a special thank you to Alliance Hospice for their devotion and care. The family would also like to thank all the staff and friends at LifeSpire for the loving care, attention and friendship she received from all.
