Mary E. Moraga

Mary Moraga passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the age of 87.
Mary was born in Albuquerque, NM on November 20, 1929, to Fernando Gutierrez and Lucy Castillo. On November 12, 1956, Mary wed her beloved husband Tony J. Moraga. They would spend almost 61 years together.
Mary was a proud Army wife who traveled the world with her husband and viewed every new tour of duty as an adventure. She had wonderful memories of living in Japan and Germany and traveling to Spain. Once the family settled back home in Albuquerque, Mary began working for the City of Albuquerque with a career that lasted for 30 years. Once retired, Mary and Tony moved to San Diego, resumed their travels and enjoyed life as Californians for 15 years before returning home. Mary was a faithful member of the Risen Savior Catholic Community.
She was a loving mother to her 2 children and she cherished her 4 grandchildren. Mary will be deeply missed by her family and friends but comfort can be found in knowing that she passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, and is now at rest.
Mary’s family would like to thank all of the staff at Albuquerque Life Care and Presbyterian Homecare and Hospice for taking such wonderful care of Mary for the last two years. Words can’t express the depth of our appreciation for all that you did to keep Mary comfortable and in such good spirits.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fernando and Lucy, by her loving husband Tony, and her brothers Earnest Gutierrez, Fernando Gutierrez Jr., and Arthur Gutierrez.
Mary is survived by her sister Helen Carmody and husband Leroy of Albuquerque, New Mexico, son, Gino Moraga of Denver, Colorado, daughter, Angela DelGrande and husband Mark of Albuquerque, New Mexico, grandsons Sergio, Mason, and Antonio DelGrande of Albuquerque, New Mexico, granddaughter Ariacella DelGrande of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and her beloved dog Maxie.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 5:00pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE 87109.
A reception will follow Memorial Service in the Wyoming Sunroom Reception Center.
