505-842-8800 Age 86, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012. Mary lived a very interesting life. She was born in Madrid, Spain on March 15, 1926 to Luis Felipe Vasquez Ravinet and Luisa Teresa Xambo Miret. Her family fled Franco-led Spain just before WWII. They resettled in Chile where Mary lived a majority of her adult life. In 1983, Mary moved to New Mexico. Mary was an independent and fun-loving person, who loved entertaining with her famous food especially her Spanish rice. She loved to gather with family and friends, was an avid reader, loved to knit and had collected over 1,000 miniatures that family and friends brought to her from around the world. When the guitar was brought out she enjoyed singing along. As a career-oriented woman, Mary was ahead of her time. In Chile, she served as an executive secretary and in New Mexico she quickly rose to the position of Quality Control Supervisor for a food company. She was blessed with an excellent mind for math and calculations so she always advanced in whatever role she served. She had such a large heart, and she was very generous. Volunteering with the Salvation Army, here in Albuquerque was an important avenue of service for Mary. She was very dedicated in her commitment to help. Mary is survived by her sons; Ricardo Pino Vasquez and wife Maria Teresa of Santiago, Chile and Mario Pino and wife Sheila of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren Rodrigo, Ricardo, Marite, Gabriel, Daniela and Javier; and great grandchildren Kyra and Francisco.
