On February 17, 2018, Maudie Ellen (Greer) Moore, surrounded by her family, went to be with the Lord. Miss Maudie will be remembered by all who knew her for her beautiful and infectious smile. Always industrious, Maudie loved to garden and do handwork of all kinds. She especially loved to quilt and insisted that every stitch be done by hand, winning numerous awards for her quilts. She was born in Old Glory, TX on November 22, 1924, the first born of Jacob Thomas Greer and Ray Olivia (Green) Greer. She had three siblings, Marvin and Bobby Wayne, who preceded her in death, and her sister Tommie Ray Owen and husband Bob. She graduated from Portales High School in 1941 and continued her education at ENMU, earning an associate’s degree in secretarial science. After moving to Santa Fe in 1946, she met and married William L.(Bill) Moore. Along with her husband, she gained a much loved step-daughter, Gloria E. (Moore) Baker, both of whom preceded her in death. Bill and Maudie had two children, Philip D. Moore and Pamela A. (Moore) Chesebrough. Maudie is also survived by Pamela’s husband Bob, grandchildren Samuel W. Chesebrough Benjamin A. Chesebrough and wife Abbey, Patrick Baker and wife Ana, Kimberly Baker-Abrams and husband Willie, great grandson Jacob Abrams, Sister In Law, Louise Osgood, Son-in-law Bill Baker and many nieces and nephews. Throughout her life, caring for and being with her family were her greatest joys and in recent years has enjoyed keeping up with them on Facebook on her iPad. She was a long time member of First Christian Church of Santa Fe. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Delfhina Gabaldon and granddaughter Cassandra, who provided such tender respite care during the last years of her life and to the incredible staff at Beehive for all they did to make her last days as peaceful and comfortable as possible. Maudie will be greatly missed.
Revelation 21:4
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
