Maurice Garcia

Maurice Garcia passed away on August 31, 2021 at his home in Rio Rancho, NM at the age of 85.

Maurice is survived by his children, Robert Garcia and wife, Erin Garcia of Rio Rancho, NM, Maurice Garcia of Denver, CO, Laura Simes of Colorado Springs, CO, and Larry Garcia and wife, Amy Garcia of Nashville, Tennessee; brother, Pilar Garcia of Albuquerque, NM; sister, FayeAnn Craney of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Lynette Nicole, Richard, Nicholas, Jon-Luc, Amanda, Dallas, Viveca, Evany and Michael; and great grandchildren, Braydon and Madison. He is preceded in death by his wife, Flora Garcia; parents, Ben Garcia and Mary Garcia; siblings, Benny Garcia, Mabel Felix, and Sally Lopez.

Maurice was born on February 18, 1936 in Albuquerque, NM to Ben and Mary Garcia. He graduated from Albuquerque High and the Catholic Seminary. He served in the Air National Guard for 8 years. On August 28, 1956 he married the love of his life, Flora Lovato in Albuquerque, NM.

Maurice cherished spending time with family and friends. He also loved playing gold and going fishing.

He will be missed by all his family and friends.

A Rosary will take place at 10:00 am with a mass to follow on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. An Interment will take place after the services at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Rd. SE Rio Rancho, NM. A Reception will take place after the funeral services at St. Thomas Aquinas Hall.
