Melquiades "Mel" Chavez

Chavez, Melquiades "Mel" Age 58, beloved father, son, brother and uncle, was embraced by the Lord, Tuesday, November 5, 2013, while surrounded by his loving family. He was a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, NM. Mel enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and was an avid Broncos fan. Mel is survived by his precious children, Augustine Silva, Erica and Eric Sierra; his loving mother, Carmen M. Chavez; his siblings, Maria Moreno, Ralph Chavez, Barbara Saavedra, Cecilia Padilla, Johnny Chavez and James Baca; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Mel will be greatly missed by all. A rosary will be recited this evening, Sunday, November 10, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 12:00 p.m. also at the Church.
