Melvin V. Hanks

Age 84, entered into eternal life on Friday, August 24, 2012. He was born in Springfield, Missouri on March 4, 1928 to Milton B. Hanks and Celella Irvin. He was a long time resident of Albuquerque for more than 60 years. Melvin is survived by his wife of 32 years LaVerne; 3 sons; 1 daughter; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 brother and a host of family and friends. Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2012 in the Strong-Thorne Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services- Coal location from 4:00 - 8:00pm. Homegoing celebration will be held at 10:00am on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Grant Chapel AME Church, 7920 Claremont Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. The Rev. Dr. John D. Hill Officiating. Interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
