Michael Allan Matz, Jr.

Michael Allan Matz, Jr., age 84, passed away May 12, 2020, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.  He was born January 28, 1936 to Michael and Antonia Matz.  He retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant, after 30 years of serving our country.  He spent 3 tours in Vietnam.  He was employed by the State of California from 1988 until 2001.  He was a member of the CSCA  from 1992-2001.  He enjoyed coin collecting, pen collecting and science fiction.  He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Shriner's, Mason's, ISDA, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He belonged to the Episcopalian Church.  He gave generously to St. Jude, Wounded Warriors and the Salvation Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael Matz, Sr. and Antonia (Dolly) Matz; sister, Donna Matz.  

Michael is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Toni and Sean Emmons of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter and son-in-law, GinnyAnn and Justin Kelly of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter, Meaghan Ashley Matz; son and daughter-in-law, Erech S. and Rebecca Vasquez of Idaho; and six grandchildren.
