Michael "Mike" Timothy Wersonick
December 16, 1959 — August 19, 2021
Michael T. (Mike) Wersonick, age 61, passed away unexpectedly at Lovelace Hospital on August 19, 2021. Mike is survived by his mother, Evelyn Vigil Wersonick, his brother Gary Wersonick, his nephews, Daniel and David Richard, his aunt Ann Vigil and many cousins.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vincent and Alma Vigil, his brothers, David Thomas Wersonick, Steve Wersonick and Brian Moody and his sister, Christine (Christy) Wersonick Baca.
Mike was an ALOA certified Professional Locksmith and worked for many years in the family business, Vigil’s Safe & Key, Inc. and then for the last 16 years as a locksmith for Albuquerque Public Schools.
Mike was an avid race fan, especially the drag races, which he attended as often as possible. He also loved board sailing and working on his several vehicles, particularly his very first car, his 1964 Ford Galaxie 500. Mike loved to cook and was especially noted for his salads.
Mike was much loved and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends and co-workers.
A Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 3, 2021, at 10 AM at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church with burial immediately following at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
