Michael Eugene Pittman, PhD, age 74, died suddenly at his home on October 12, 2014. Born November 28, 1939 in New Orleans, Mike was a retired Associate Physics Professor at the University of New Orleans for 29 years and a former member of the Louisiana National Guard and a member of the Palo Duro Stamp Club. He moved to Albuquerque from Kenner, LA in February of 2007. He leaves behind his wife, Rita Curry-Pittman, and four children: Michael E Pittman, Jr.; John Pittman of Reno, NV; Debra ‘Debbie’ Butler; and David Pittman (Wendy); seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his step-children: Cathy Harrell (Steve) of El Dorado, AR; James L Hingle, III (Julie) of Covington, LA; Christine LaMourie (Paul) of Naperville, IL and Stephen Hingle (Rebecca) of Madison, WI; and eight step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents James Frank Pittman of Jackson, TN and Anna Pareti of New Orleans, and by his brother, James Frank Pittman, of Kenner, LA. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
