Michael "Yogi" Reed

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother,, Michael "Yogi" Reed passed away early morning on his mother’s birthday, April 7th, 2018. Born August 25th, 1956 in El Paso, TX,. He is preceded in death by his parents John Clifford Reed Sr. and Mary Lou Reed and survived by his wife of 36 years, Patsy Reed; daughters, Raven Reed and husband Danny Rogers & Amber Reed and husband Fernando Ornelas; his grandchildren Krystina Ramos, Dominic Ramos, Jasmine Rogers, Violet Rogers, AnaLynn Ornelas, Isaiah Ornelas, and LilyAnn Rogers; brother, John Clifford Reed, Jr., among many other friends family.

He became a New Mexico resident when his father moved the family to Las Vegas, NM when he was 15 years old; moving to Albuquerque, NM shortly after.

Being young and ambitious, Michael became a truck driver at 17 years old for a well known brand and began living on his own as an adult.

Upon meeting his wife Patsy on a blind date in 1978 at 21 years old (Patsy 22 y/o)

it was love at first sight. They became inseparable and immediately started their family.

Throughout the years Michael worked hard to create a good life for his family. Even with his modest income, he was very proud to be able to provide comfort to those he loved.

Although Michael was rough around the edges he was a loving and friendly man. He could make a friend anywhere.

He had a great big heart and loved nature, great food, music and in his prime was often quite a lush.

He loved to tell his dirty jokes to any listening ear. Most of which he created out of observation of life and people. If you entered his presence he was certain to make sure you were laughing before you left.

He will be very missed by many.

Friends and family may visit the Daniels Family Funeral Home in Rio Rancho, NM on Sara Rd. and Meadowlark Ln.
