Michael Robertson

ROBERTSON- Michael Robertson, 66, passed away on January 21, 2010. He was born February 19, 1943, in Utica, New York, to Elizabeth and Wesley Robertson. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Grophler and brother, James Robertson. Mike is survived by his soul mate and life partner, Frances Kurts; sister, Barbara (Peter) Steciak; daughters, Valerie Minns (Brian Aragon), Joni Schichtel, sons, Sonny Adams (Laure Erickson), and Troy (Denise) Adams; grandchildren, Letisha Minns, Cheryl Minns, Charlie Minns, April (Ryan) Butler, Lile Adams, Jacqueline Adams, Ryan Adams; great grandchildren, C.J. Minns, Jaelyn Minns, and expected baby Butler; beloved sisters and brothers-in law, nieces, nephews, God-children, and friends. Mike was known to many for his deep devotion to his family. He was an outgoing, fun-loving and encouraging person. He was ready and willing to help anyone that needed assistance. Because of his life experiences, he was dedicated to his family as a father figure and mentor. He provided the glue that drew his family together and kept them together. Mike just loved life! He loved sports, particularly football, golf and horse racing. In the late 80's Mike joined the Ballut Abyad Shrine Pipe Band, where he was currently serving as Vice President. He was a member of the Mesa Lodge #68, AF & AM in Albuquerque, the Scottish Rite 32nd Degree in Santa Fe, Order of Quetzalcoatl, Oso Negro #44 and House Director at the Solo Club in Albuquerque. Mike was a giver, and because of his willingness to give generously of his time and talent he touched many lives of both family and friends. After retirement, Mike began his handy-man career. This was just another example of his desire to give and help. Honorary pallbearers will be Raul Castenada, Louie Lucero, Rene Flores, George Rodriguez, Ken Grover, Marty Martinez, Dennis Flynn, and Don Poteat.
