Michael L. Saul, 86, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away in his home on July 15, 2023.
Mike was born on October 4, 1936, and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1954. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1955 and served until 1960. Mike learned telecommunications in the Navy, which led him to work for Mountain Bell and AT&T for 30 years.
He was a proud member of the Choctaw and Kiowa nations. Throughout his life, Mike was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and playing golf and softball with friends. He played golf and softball well into his eighties, including organized softball tournaments throughout the Southwest. In 2019, Mike led his softball team to the gold medal in the National Senior Games.
Mike is survived by his wife, Linda, of Albuquerque; his sister Penny Saul-Hall, of Houston, Texas; his brother, James “Chris” Saul, and wife, Sally, of Tijeras, New Mexico; his daughter, Allison Griffard, and husband, David, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his son, Scott, and wife, Trisha, of Orange County, California; and his son, Rick, and wife, Eileen, of Bosque Farms, New Mexico. Mike is also survived by his three grandchildren, Kelsie, Logan, and Hayden, whom he loved and adored.
Interment will be held at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe on October 4, 2023, at 1 p.m.
