Michael Philip Scalere

Michael Philip Scalere, 93, of Albuquerque, NM, and previously of San Marino, CA, passed away on July 22, 2024. He was born on June 9, 1931, in New Rochelle, NY, to Carl and Mary Scalere.

Michael is survived by his grandchildren, Christina Holtzen and Justin Holtzen, and his great-grandson Theodore Van Lepp. He is also survived by his sisters, Marie Mazza and Carlene Lasorsa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Scalere, his beloved wife Elizabeth Scalere, and his children, Debra Holtzen and Michael Scalere II.

Michael was known for his unwavering dedication and love for his family. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and later worked as an accountant. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Michael had a particular soft spot for the New York Yankees. He was also a big fan of Frank Sinatra's music and was a devout Catholic.

A memorial service will be held at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 11:30 AM.
