Sheridan, Michael Michael (Cooper) Sheridan, age 72 passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 29, 2013. He was born in Albuquerque on December 28, 1939 and raised in Santa Fe. His parents were Virginia L. (Cooper) and Matthew J. Sheridan. Mike received his Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education and his Master of Arts from UNM. He proudly served for 4 years in the Marine Corps Reserves. The world and especially Albuquerque is a better place because of Mike. This is evident in the 34 years of service he gave the South Valley by teaching at Pajarito Elementary School. He positively influenced generations of lives and they honored Mike by naming the gym after him. In addition, he taught thousands of teenagers across the city to drive. Mike is survived by his wife, Susanne; children, Matt Sheridan and wife Jenn (Onuska), Lisa (Sheridan) and husband Scott Clark; grandchildren, Brooke Sheridan, Nic Sheridan-Perez and Tiffani Hallman; sisters, Kathleen Sheridan-Cooper and Cynthia(Cooper) and husband, Bruce Kohl; as well as his nieces and nephews, Kristina, Laura, Rob, Nate, Katie, and Dane. Mike was passionate about golf and Lobo basketball. He was a kind, giving, ethically strong man, a loving father and husband. Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
