Michael Tobin, 81, passed in his sleep on December 15, 2024. Michael was born to Alice Kathryn Boyd and Edward Raymond Tobin on September 26, 1943 in Long Beach, California. He served in the Navy from 1964 to 1988 during which time he was deployed to Vietnam and earned a Purple Heart. He was proud of his service, and continued to work as a Physician's assistant for the Navy until he retired. He loved volunteering at his church, joining his friends at Silver Sneakers, volunteering at the library at Sandia Vista Elementary and spending time with his family. At the time of his passing he was over 30 years sober. He was joker with a big heart. He will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents and older brother Patrick, and survived by his brother Dennis (Patty).
He also is survived by daughters Michelle (Benjamin), Janet (Allen), and Erin (Ian), and son, Robert; grandchildren, Brittany, Madison, Christian, Zachary, Emily, Dylan, Samual, and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Richard, Carson, Adaline, Kaecen, and Amelia.
Funeral will be held December 30th at The Church of Incarnation in Rio Rancho. Rosary at 11, Mass at 11:30. Burial at the Santa Fe National cemetery at 2:00 PM.
