Miguel was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. He attended Griegos Elementary, Garfield Middle School and Valley High School. He graduated from Valley in 1995. Over the years he went to college and trade schools and had many careers. He worked as a cook, corrections officer, pharmacy technician, waiter, security guard, and medical assistant. Miguel was a dedicated catholic who spent time teaching catechism at Our Lady of Guadalupe and in recent years at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary where he taught confirmation 1 with his wife Sonya.
He loved to spend some free time serving with the Knights of Columbus where he held many positions within his local council and state council. He currently held the title of Grand Knight and District Deputy 9. Miguel spent most of his time volunteering at his children's school and helping out with all of their extra curricular activities. He coached his son in YAFL football, wrestling and baseball and coached both daughters in wrestling and Softball. One of his proudest coaching achievements was coaching both Tobias and Lorelei as the Varsity Head Wrestling coach at Valley High School during the 2021-2022 season. Miguel loved the idea that he could give back to the community where he grew up in the North Valley.
To Miguel his family and his faith were everything. Miguel was hardly ever seen without his children or his wife, they did almost everything together as a family. Miguel was a very lovable, compassionate, and caring person that would find any way to help you. He gave so much to his community and never asked for anything in return. Miguel will be greatly missed by his wife, children, family and community.
