DUNMAN-LERMUSEAUX - Mildred O. Dunman-Lermuseaux, 102, passed away January 25, 2010 at her home in Bernalillo, NM. Mildred was born August 28, 1907 in Mena, Arkansas to Zaida Ann Milner and Marion O. Dunman. Her family moved to NM about 1920, where she enrolled in beauty school and worked at the Presbyterian Sanatorium until she married Victor D. Lermuseaux on July 17, 1929 and they made their home in Bernalillo. Mildred became a wonderful homemaker and kept her family fed and clothed during the hard times of the depression. She drove a school bus (#20) for Bernalillo Public Schools until her retirement after 20 years. She and Victor divided their time between their home and the Jemez Mountain home where they gardened and ranched. Mildred was a devout Jehovah's Witness, and only in the last few months had to miss going to Sunday services. She loved to quilt, to read, to sing, bake bread, and had a deep love of music her entire life. She believed idle hands were the devil's workshop, and was dismayed she could not work in the last months of her life. She was preceded in death by Victor; her children Gene, Zaida Williams and husband Bob, and Louie; and siblings Stanley, Zelma, Bill, and Russell. She is survived by her daughter Betty and Melvin Kelley; daughter-in-law Faye; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 2 nephews; and many, many friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in memory of Mildred to Hospice de la Luz, 3812 Academy Parkway North NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
