FERNAN - Mildred Connor “Connie” Fernan, 90, of Dumfries, VA and formerly of Rio Rancho, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011. She was the widow of James P. Fernan and was a retired secretary with the U.S. Government. Mrs. Fernan was born January 27, 1921, the daughter of the late Charles R. and Evelyn Redding Connor. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Fernan Whitaker and Helen C. Fernan; four sons, Brian Fernan, Jack Fernan, Tom Fernan and Connor Fernan; eight grandchildren, Connor, Sullivan and Foster Whitaker; Emily, Paul, Laura, John and Catherine Fernan. A visitation will be held 4:00pm~6:00pm, Tuesday, March 22, 2011, Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Road Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE and Meadowlark Lane, Rio Rancho, NM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at San Ysidro Catholic Church, Corrales, NM. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
