Mildred (Millie) High, resident of Albuquerque since 1946, has gone to be with the Lord on January 31, 2024. She and her twin sister, Margaret were born in 1928 to Jim B. and Thelma Moutray in La Mesa, New Mexico. They moved to a farm in Seven Rivers in 1930, which is located between Carlsbad and Artesia, New Mexico.
She and her twin sister attended Lakewood School through 8th grade and high school in Artesia. Mildred met William High at the University of New Mexico. He had just returned from a year of occupation in Japan.
William and Mildred were married in 1950 in Carlsbad. She was employed by Sandia Laboratories until their son, Mark was born in 1953. Sons, Steven, Scott, and Eric followed in the next few years. Eric, the youngest, passed away in 1976 after a nine-year battle with leukemia. Husband William passed away in 2016.
Mildred has six grandchildren: Mark Jr., James, Steven Jr., Jacob, Emily, and Brian and five great grandchildren.
