Curley died May 17, 2011, in Fort Defiance. She was born Jan. 22, 1938, in Cuba. Curley was born into the Meadow People Clan and born for the Tangle People Clan. Curley was a Window Rock School district cook and a cook at Joe’s Cafe. Her hobbies included playing cards, bingo and sewing. Survivors include her sons, Jerry A. Yazzie, Jesse L. Yazzie, Jasper B. Curley; daughters, Nora Jim, Justina B. Curley; sisters, Sarah Sala, Patsy Castillo; 12 grandchildren. Curley was preceded in death her parents, Ida and Joe Barboan; brother, Willie Barboan. Pallbearers will be Aaron Sam, Justin B. Curley Jr., Perry Roe, Walton Jim, Jimmy Peterson Jr., Sam Sala. The family will receive relatives and friends at Fort Defiance Senior Center.
