Namon Poke Phelps

PHELPS-Namon Poke, 92, of Farmington, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009. Mr. Phelps was the son and 6th of 10 children of James Thomas and Rhoda Mae Phelps and was born March 25, 1917 in Wills Point, Texas. He met and married his wife of 71 years, Lola Mae, in Silverton, Texas and they moved to Aztec in 1953. A resident of Farmington for over 48 years, Mr. Phelps was a diesel mechanic for several local businesses including Sandy's Auto and Ziems Ford. He is survived by his wife, Lola Mae; children, Bettie Fisher and husband Charlie, Jimmy Phelps and wife Eunice, and Jerry Phelps; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 7 great, great-grandchildren.
