Nancy Margaret Jacobs

March 25, 1938 — May 31, 2020

Nancy Margaret Jacobs, 82, passed away on May 31, 2020 with her family by her side in Albuquerque, NM

She was born March 25, 1938, in Cambridge, Massachusetts to her parents Donald and Vivian Gleason. Her father ran a restaurant in Natick, Massachusetts and her mother was an operator for the local phone company.

Nancy was one of four children, Donald Gleason, Joan Bowers, and Elaine Perry. She graduated from Natick High School in Natick, Massachusetts and went on to work as a caregiver to the elderly in nursing homes and private residences. As she entered retirement, she graciously cared for many of her grandchildren.

She was recently united with her three brothers Robert Sullivan, Richard, and Paul Larkin and sister Karen Larkin-Nagle and it was something that brought her great joy in the last few years of her life.

Although, she was tiny she was feisty and always spoke her mind, whether you wanted to hear it or not. She was a fighter and gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us the preciousness of life. Her strength and determination were second to none. Her laugh was infectious, and her heart was gold.  She always found a way to see the best in people and was always first to remind anyone love comes first.

Her passion was always to help others with her family being at the top of her list, devoting much of her time and energy to her siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with friends, especially her neighborhood coffee club, attending church and walking.

Nancy Jacobs is survived by her sisters Elaine Perry and Linda Larkin; brothers, Robert Sullivan, Richard and Paul Larkin; four sons Louis, Paul, Brian, Jeffery Jacobs and their spouses, seven Grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Donald Gleason and her sister Joan Bowers.

Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her son’s strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

With the current situation not allowing gatherings, a small private ceremony with her immediate family has taken place.  A larger celebration of life is being planned for a later time when we can all gather and share all the memories of her wonderful life.
