Nancy M. "Hippy" Smith

Smith, Nancy M 65, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2014. She was born in West Newton , PA on March 19, 1949 to William M. and Jeane (Jacob) Markel. Nancy, "Hippy" as she was affectionately known, was a Socorro resident for about 12 years. She loved animals, especially dogs and horses. Pit Bulls really caught her attention. She was interested in many things, guns, classic automobiles, Harley Davidson Bikes, and also knitting and crocheting. "Hippy" was so welcoming and was always inviting others over, rather it was for a cold beer, a warm meal, or a place to stay, Nancy's home was always open to everyone. Above anything, Nancy cherished her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend. Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, and her husband, Dale Mark Smith in December of 2009. Nancy is survived by her children, Will Smith; and Rheinhold R. and Shiloh Schmitt; her grandchildren, Teagan; Derrick; and Lexi; her sisters and brother and many other loving family members and close friends. The Family will hold a private memorial celebration of Nancy's life at a later date.
