Natalie Sherman

Natalie died of abdominal and bone cancers at 3 p.m., March 28, 2018.  She was a resident at "Touched by a Dove", a small assisted living facility in Albuquerque.  The Memorial Service will be held at Daniel's Funeral Home on Wyoming, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018. 

Natalie 'nee Jarosh, was born and raised in Boston, graduated with a BA in Theater from the University of the Pacific.  She was a member of the San Francisco Actor's Workshp, and appeared in many plays throughout her life.  She married N. W. Sherman (Ash), had two sons (Shannon and Kris), and three grandchildren (Kyna, Conlan, and Jack.  Somehow she found time to attend USC and graduated with a Master's Degree (MSLS) in Library Science.  From childhood, Natalie had a strong interest in her Celtic and Lithuanian heritage. She collected amber, and books on Ireland.  She was an ardent member of Albuquerque Celtic clubs. 

Her Golden Anniversary with a trip to Ireland had to be cancled when she was diagnosed with cancer in 2016.  After a year of Chemo therapy, she was finally able to visit Ireland in August  and September of 2017.  Everywhere Natalie was met by cousins that she had never met before.  It was a tiring trip, but Natalie climbed the Rock o'Cashel, and all those long steps up to the top of the Cliffs of Mohre. She made the rounds of pubs everywhere to listen to traditional music.   She was excited, happy, and color began to return to her cheeks. 

When she returned from Ireland the Chemo began again, but had to be halted after a single session.  She came home, was able to spend time at Thanksgiving and Christmas with her family.  By the end of February, it was clear she needed assisted living, and moved to Touched by a White Dove.  She began to fail on the morning of the February 28th.  During her final hours she was mostly unresponsive, but seemed to hear telephone messages from Shannon and Kris.   

Her end was peaceful and without pain.
