Bruton, Neil A.
Age 85, and a long time rancher, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the family home in San Antonio, NM. He was born in Engle, NM on September 22, 1930, to William W. and Allene (Gauwain) Bruton. Neil graduated from Socorro High School and attended New Mexico State for a year and a half before being drafted into the US Army. He served during the Korean War. He loved to hunt and fish with his kids and was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years. Neil's whole life centered around ranching. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experiences with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Jack Bruton. Neil is survived by wife of 61 years, Pauline Collins Bruton; his sons, Wesley N. Bruton and wife, Karla, and Ronald N. Bruton; his grandchildren, Aubry Dameron-Talkington, Wesley and Cole Dameron, Brittany Bruton-Hayden, Wesley G. D. Bruton, Ty Sharp and Dillon Bruton; twelve great grandchildren; nephews and nieces, Kevin and Stacey Adams, Jack W. Bruton, Sharon Bruton, and Doreen Threet. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services Chapel, 309 Garfield, Socorro. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Socorro Cemetery with Pastor Phillip Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Pablo Romero, Kevin Adams, Cole Dameron, Wesley G. D. Bruton, Phillip Gallegos, and Steven Aguilar. Honorary Pallbearers are Gay Ross, George Dean, Johnny Mounyo, and Alan Brawley. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Neil's honor to the American Cancer Society.
