Nelda Nadine Collard

NELDA NADINE (LESLIE) COLLARD, 72, of Farmington passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington after a lengthy illness. Nadine was born April 3, 1936 in Ackmen, Colorado the daughter of Luther Clemons Leslie and Dorothea Elender Cassity Leslie. She attended school in Durango, Colorado and later graduated from Durango High School. Nadine married Don Collard in 1953 in Durango. She and Don later returned to the 4 Corners area in 2000. Nadine was employed as the director of budget and finance for the Ysleta School District in El Paso and retired with over 20 years of service. Nadine enjoyed working with stained glass. She was preceded in death by her husband Don Collard in 2002, daughter Kim and son Mark. Nadine was loved by all her friends and family and had a very quick wit. Her loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Nadine is survived by her sisters, Jeanne Howe and husband Tim of Bloomfield, Neva Hilderbrand and husband Don of Aztec, Linda Gaskins and husband Paul of Farmington, numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends. Honorary pallbearers are Derek Gaskins, Eric Stickle, Bryan Stickle, Michael Hilderbrand, Daryl Howe, and Steven Howe.
