Nella Jane James

Nella Jane James, 55, of Albuquerque, NM made her final transition the afternoon of August 16, 2024 succumbing to her injuries from a pedestrian/vehicle accident that occurred on August 21, 2019.

Nella was born May 29, 1969 to Louise Della Gorman and Henry Tom James in Gallup, NM. After Nella graduated high school in 1988 from Thoreau High School. She then joined her Mother and Step-Father in the family business of jewelry making.

In 1991, Nella and Charleston began their family and went on to have three daughters, Charnell, Charmayne and Cheyenne. While she loved being a Mother, she also found love in being a silversmith. Her work was contemporary Native American jewelry. Nella was known for her silver baby bracelets and sold them throughout New Mexico. Nella was a Mother before anything. Her resilience taught her family that going through tough times you will always find a way to carry on, no matter what the circumstance may be. Other than being a strong woman her children would say she was stubborn, wild and loving.

Nella was predeceased by her Father Henry Tom James, her Step-Father Presley Dean Curley, her Brother Herbert Tom James and her Sister Sophia Lynn Gorman-Kassanavoid.

She is survived by her children, Charnell Willie, Charmayne Willie and Cheyenne Nicole Willie. Her grandchildren; Anais Isabella Perez, Erick Bernardo Perez, Nae’Lynn Sadie Bitsilly, Donavan Christian Bitsilly and Nae’Lah Louise Bitsilly. Her Mother, Louise Della Curley, her eldest Sister, Vivian Carol Gorman and her nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Daniels Family Funeral Home Carlisle Chapel 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110 on Friday September 6th, 2024 from 9am-2pm. We’d like to invite all attendees to stay for a luncheon with the family of Nella.
