Funeral services for Neomi W. Gilmore, 61, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 23, at The Door-Gallup Christian Center. The Rev. Mel Montoya will officiate. Burial will be in private family plot. Gilmore died Dec. 17, 2010, in Albuquerque. She was born May 6, 1949, in Bluewater, into the Ute People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan. Gilmore was a police officer at Gallup Police Dept. and moved on to be a certified teacher assistant for Gallup McKinley County Schools. She was also a certified nurse assistant and worked at various hospitals. She attended school at UNM-Gallup and Brigham Young Intermountain, Utah. Gilmore was a great mom, grandmother and sister. Survivors include her sons, Adrian Gilmore, Donovan Gilmore, both of Twin Lakes; daughters, Valerie Benally, Bridgette Jensen, Shannon M. Benally, all of Twin Lakes, Neomi M. Gilmore of Albuquerque; brother, Alvin Willis of Twin Lakes; sisters, Faye Antonio of Twin Lakes, Florence Thompson of Whiteriver, Juanita Tom of Vanderwagen; 24 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Gilmore was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Willis, Ruth M. Willis; brothers, Louis Willis, Raymond Willis; daughter, Jan Jim. Pallbearers will be Robert Jensen, Frederick Manuelito, Alfonso Johnson, Michael Johnson, Chris Antonio. The family will receive relatives and friends at Twin Lakes Chapter House, following services.
