Nicholas Andres Montoya

Nicolas Montoya, also known as Pops, was born November 7^th, 1942, in the small town of Magdalena, New Mexico. Nick graduated from Magdalena High School, then served in the Army for three years and was discharged with a E-4 rank. Nick then met his beautiful wife, Rose Tafoya, they were married on August 22^nd, 1970 and were married for 54 wonderful years. After one year of being married they welcomed their first baby into the family. Adela was born  in May of 1971. Two years later they welcomed their first son Carl in December 1973. Four years later Nick and Rose would welcome their last child Ryan into the family in December 1978. Nick raised his family in a home he built with his own two hands. He lived a long and blessed life filled with love, excitement and always a little boldness. He was an amazing, kind hearted, comical man who lived his life with so much generosity. Nick was 81 years of age and passed away on March 9^th, 2024 in the family home.

Nick is preceded in death by his mother Maria, his father Diego, sisters Adela Montoya, Ernestina Gallegos, brothers Manuel Montoya, Richard Montoya and great granddaughter Elly May Rose White. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Pops, we will miss the life lessons you loved to share with us. We will carry you with us always, and we hope to live up to the legacy of the amazing person you were.    

A memorial service will be held on Monday March 18th at 11 am at the Warehouse in Magdalena  located at 200 N Main Street Magdalena, NM 87825
