Nora E. Cordova

Nora E. Cordova, age 92, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024 in Santa Fe, NM.  She was born August 26, 1932 in Lemitar, NM to Daniel Chavez and Nica Nora Gomez Chavez.  She was a graduate of Magdalena High School.  On July 22, 1950, she married the love of her life, Felix M. Cordova.  She was an employee of Gulton Industries for 25 years.  She took great pride in working government contracts for missiles and satellites.  Nora was a member of the New Mexico Hispanic Club and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.  She enjoyed fishing and traveling.  She loved any time she spent with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Felix M. Cordova; son-in-law, Steve A. Miller and son-in-law Dave Carrillo; brothers, Wilfred Chavez, Martin Chavez, Eddie Chavez, and sister, Evelyn Chavez.

Nora is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Bill Darnell of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Jan Carrillo of Tijeras, NM; son and daughter-in-law, Melvin and Manuela Cordova of Santa Fe, NM; granddaughter, Melissa Leithman and husband Chris of Albuquerque, NM; grandson, Daniel Carrillo of Tijeras, NM; grandson, Matthew Cordova of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter, Kaitlin Cordova of Rio Rancho, NM; grandson, Alex Moya of Albuquerque, NM; grandson, Spencer Moya of Westwood, CA; great-grandson, Lucian Leithman of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Bertha Salas of Las Cruces, NM; brother and sister-in-law, William and Nena Chavez of California.  

Services will begin with Recitation of the Rosary, 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.  Mass will begin at 10:30 AM.  Burial will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.  Reception afterwards in the Parish Hall.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and hospice workers that took great took took such great care of Nora during her transition.

Pallbearers will be:  Daniel Carrillo, Matthew Cordova, Chris Leithman, Lucian Leithman, John Paul Cordova and Gerald Cordova.
