Norbert Charles Powers

Powers, Norbert Charles Age 83, a longtime resident of Rio Rancho passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013. He was born on October 16, 1929 to Charles and Charlotte (Cieslak) Podgorski in Chicago, IL. He attended Northwestern University and was drafted by the US Army and served during the Korean War at the Headquarters Division at the Army Base in Rolla, MO. He retired as a Regional District Manager with Continental Insurance. Mr. Powers was commissioned by the Governor of Kentucky as a Kentucky Colonel. Mr. Powers belonged to several organizations such as the Elks, Shriners, Moose Lodge, the American Legion and the Masons. He was very active in the bands of many of these organizations. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Powers, and daughter, Amy May. He is survived by his granddaughter, Stephanie May; son-in-law, Brian May; and many nieces and nephews.
