NUKIA (Kia) RAY GAKIN On December 9, 2012, the lord was searching for a young man who was caring, kind, loving and hard worker who could walk the journey with him. Nukia was found and said "yes I will walk with you". He walked away in peace carrying his fishing pole, tackle and some tools. Fishing was his passion he loved fishing still trying to catch "Charlie" in the back pond. Kia loved his big man toys remote control helicopters', cars and trucks. Building models of any kind. Working on cars he was real good at it loved to get dirty. Liked installing stereos and speakers the bigger and louder they were the better he liked it. Kia was the lead pit crew for Miles Merritt spint car racing. He likes going to rock crawls and mudd boggling. He was the master chef loved to cook and grill his favorite was cornish hens and jalapeno with cheese wrapped in bacon Kia never hesitated when it came time to help others he was always there for them. If he could he would have lived in the outdoors. Kia worked in construction was a heavy equipment operator loved his big tonka toys, excavator, ditch digger and tractors. Worked for AUI, Salls Brothers and Bradbury and Stamm. Loved to decorate for Halloween creating haunted houses and dressing up. Christmas time he would go to the ranch and find the biggest tree, even if it didn't fit in his house he wanted it. Kia went to Rosemont Elementary, Witt Elementary, Mandalay Middle School and Standley Lake High School. Nukia will forever be in the hearts and minds of his loving family, life long girlfriend(wife/partner) Donna Blackhat and his dog Geo "Pooky", parents Bob and Priscilla Gakin, brother Robert Gakin and wife Natalie, sister Terra Gakin and fiance Matthew Shaw. Nephew Mateo Gakin, nieces Colee Garcia and Makayla Gakin-Shaw. Aunties Jan Roska, Rose Zeolla, Mona Gakin, Lea Lopez, Uncles Ray Lopez, Barry Roska, Frank Zeolla, Marvin Gakin. Cousins Wendy, Joe, Monica, Frankie, Curtis, Marvin, Nikki, Susan, Nicklus, Jesse. Many more aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Nukia's extended family the Blackhat's. Preceded in death were his Grandmother Evelyn Hernandez, Grandfather Robert Lopez, Grandmother Mary Gakin, Grandfather George Gakin, Grandmother Annie Sharpfish, Uncle Robert Lopez. Nukia will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Pallbearers will be Robert Gakin Jr, Curtis Gakin, Matthew Shaw, Robert Gardom, Paul Tenoso, Tim Smith, Ray Gallegos, Sam Guiterrez. Honorary Pallbearers Ron Edsitty, Dewayne Blackhat. A Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 am on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Daniels Family Funeral Services Sara Road Chpel 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Daniels Family Funeral Services.
