Ofemiano Fimy Martinez, age 79, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on Sunday November 1, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jennie and sons Robert Martinez (Ana), José Alfredo Martinez (Polly) daughters Sally Villegas (Carlos) and Sharon Valdez (Antonio), grandchildren Abrán, Sara, April, Jacob, Ambrose, Maverick, Zachary, Raina, Rubel, Gabrielle, Estevan, Emilio, 13 great grandchildren, one brother Victor Martinez and many nephews and nieces.
Fimy was born on February 8, 1936 in Chilili, NM to Rubel and Antoñita Martinez. He worked for the City of Albuquerque for 30 years and the US Forest Service for 7 years. He was known for his kindness, generosity, patience and positive outlook towards life. Fimy found the most joy in spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Rosary will be recited on Thursday, November 5th at 7:00 p.m. and mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Child Parish - 19 Camino del Santo Niño in Tijeras, NM. Burial to follow at Cementerio de Chilili.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Holy Child Catholic School Scholarship Fund (address listed above).
